As a citizen of the world, I strongly believe in giving back to the community. I am thankful for what I have experienced and achieved in my life, and it is my intention to continually support the following chosen causes that matter to me. Please know that 5% of income earned from my coaching work with clients go to the following causes:
Depression : beyondblue
beyondblue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance misuse disorders in Australia. beyondblue is a bipartisan initiative of the Australian, state and territory governments with a key goal of raising community awareness about depression and reducing stigma associated with the illness.
beyondblue works in partnership with health services, schools, workplaces, universities, media and community organisations, as well as people living with depression, to bring together their expertise around depression. This is important to me as I personally know people who are close to me battle chronic depression and schizophrenia for years.
Animal Welfare: RSPCA (Western Australia)
Many people believe the RSPCA gets all its funding from government. This is not true, most of the funding for the RSPCA comes from the Australian community. _They depend on our charity. It costs 6 million dollars to care for the animals under their care and to educate the wider community on how to prevent animal cruelty.
Almost 95% of the money received comes from the public and corporate supporters. Most of the community’s donations are the lifeblood of the RSPCA. Without our support, the RSPCA would be unable to continue to provide the crucial services that are required to stop animal cruelty. It is incredible to think of the terrible pain and suffering that some animals endure, and as an animal lover, I will not condone any form of animal cruelty.
Child Welfare: World Vision
World Vision is Australia’s largest charitable group. World Vision helps over 20 million people every year, thanks to the support of more than 400,000 Australians.
World Vision provides relief in emergency situations and works on long-term community development projects. Together, these address the causes of poverty and help people move towards self-sufficiency.
Across five continents and in over 60 countries, World Vision carries out development work to address the causes and consequences of global poverty. These work include child sponsorship, climate change, food & nutrition, human trafficking & slavery and water, sanitation and hygiene.
I am personally passionate about the welfare of children in impoverished countries in Asia, and have strongly supported child sponsorship for the past 10 years.
