I have often been regarded as a dynamic, energetic and highly motivated mentor, coach and trainer. I strongly believe I am warm and open, authentic, with a focused and practical approach, and have been complimented as an honest, caring and very supportive leader, with a particular energy for authentically engaging with my peers and clients.
Currently a Singaporean residing as a Permanent Resident in Perth, Western Australia, I first arrived in Perth in 1993 as an international student studying for a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Communication Studies and Theatre and Drama Studies with Murdoch University.
I have since received Murdoch University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence in 1995, graduating with a BA (First Class) Honours in 1996.
In 2003, I received my Doctorate Degree in Philosophy in the field of Psychodrama and Playback Theatre Therapy. By 2008, I was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary/Adult Education (Murdoch University).
I also attained the following certifications from Christopher Howard’s Academy of Wealth and Achievement, Australia:
- Certified Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Certified Practitioner in Ericksonian Hypnosis
- Certified Master Practitioner in Hypnosis
- Wealth Acceleration and Results Coach
I have always believed, and still believe, in doing things very differently while pursuing my dreams. Realising that my passion was towards helping people discover their potential, get creative with ideas and solutions, design their destinies and making differences in their lives, I sold my food business and embarked on a new and exciting journey in training and consultancy, with special attention to mentorship and coaching.
Results4Life Coaching
My target clients in Results4Life Coaching extend to anyone who is ready for change in their lives. To date, my clients come from various work backgrounds. I find common ground with my clients here because of 15 years of work experience in teaching and management across the academic, non-profit, entertainment, health and hospitality sectors.
My amazing work journey during this time has introduced me to many Australians as well as international Permanent Residences from all walks of life. To date, I often find myself using these experiences to the fullest in my coaching practice.
International Students from Asia Coaching Program
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with numerous international students studying in Perth universities. My interaction with them contributed immensely to my knowledge of what it means to be an international student here in Australia, particularly in Perth. These experiences included:
- Being heavily involved with the Singapore social societies in Perth’s universities (particularly with The Singapore Link, 1993-1995);
- Working as an artistic director with the Intervarsity Business Network (Asia Pacific Region) and with the Raffles Ball Committee (1994-1995);
- Working with and coaching Asian international students through the arts medium at Murdoch University and through my own theatre company, Theatre Kwong, between 2002 – 2006 via the International Students Creative Opportunities in Perth (ISCOPe) Program;
- Serving as President for the Singapore-Western Australia Network Inc between 2005 – 2006.
My familiarity with, and the understanding of, Australian culture is also contributed by 14 years of working across the entertainment, academic, non-profit, health and hospitality sectors. My amazing work journey during this time has introduced me to many Australians and international Permanent Residences from all walks of life. I intend to use these experiences to the fullest in my coaching practice.
Asian Migrants Assistance and Coaching Program
My personal experience as an overseas migrant/Permanent Resident in Australia for the past 10 years also contributes to my knowledge and understanding of the challenges and issues faced by Asian migrants. These experiences include:
- Dealing with a new vernacular and culture in a foreign country
- Job seeking and resume writing
- Confidence building with job interviews
- Assimilation with the local community whilst remaining true to your own cultural roots, practices and beliefs
- Having the ability to share your culture within a multicultural society in Australia
